About

Why SRMEL?

Founded in 1934, Eggen & Lance, Santa Rosa Mortuary, and Fred Young Funeral Home have cared for loved ones that have passed in Northern California.

Since our founding over a century ago, it has been exceptionally important to us that our neighbors and their loved ones are cared for with love and professionalism. It’s important to us that when you meet with our team you feel heard, and your needs are met. We proudly offer full-service funeral, burial, cremation, and reception services to the families of Sonoma County, the North Bay and beyond.

“I cannot recommend Eggen & Lance highly enough! We used their services when my father unexpectedly took his own life a few weeks ago and they have been one of the bright spots throughout this whole horrible ordeal. My brother and I both live on the East Coast, and we were so anxious about choosing a mortuary sight unseen, but from the very first phone call Eggen & Lance put our worries to rest and just made the process as easy as possible.”

Troy Warren

Funeral Director FDR 2969/ Embalmer EMB 9074

Fred Young Funeral Home Funeral Director Troy Warren’s interests in anatomy/physiology combines well with his desire to serve others.

Shortly after completing his studies at San Francisco College of Mortuary Science he found himself at home with the Santa Rosa Mortuary family.

“It’s true that some funeral homes are run by large companies or corporations that really don’t have families’ interest at heart and care more about company profits. We, at the Santa Rosa Mortuary family (Fred Young Funeral Home, Santa Rosa Mortuary, Eggen & Lance Chapel), are a small company that focuses on meeting the needs of each family that comes to us, and I think we do it even better than most “family owned” businesses.”

His off work pleasures include hiking, playing the guitar, and puttering around the house.
