Obituary of Eleanora Barry Jones

After a short illness, Trudy went to the Lord surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Ernest and Maria Elena Arata in Mexico. When she was 2 she moved to Antioch, CA and graduated from Antioch High School in 1950. In 1955, she married Bob Barry and moved to Petaluma where they began to raise a family, and then they moved to Santa Rosa in 1960. She was involved with St. Rose School and then with Santa Rosa High School. She began her banking career working at the Bank of California and retiring from Eureka Bank where she developed long standing friendships which lasted a lifetime. Trudy had a love of gardening, cows, movies, traveling, going to dinner and hosting holiday gatherings at her home for 50+ years. Her doors were always open for friends to come and share a meal and laughter. But her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her six children, John (Robin) Barry, Beth (Steve) Venable, Jim (Rita) Barry, Ellen (Dean) Iodence, Dee Barry, and Dave (Christine) Barry; her grandchildren, Michael Iodence, Trevor Iodence, Becky Barry, Lisa Barry, Amanda Barry, DJ Barry, Chris Nunes, Jeff Nunes, Tiana Kraus, and her great-granchildren, Ivy Sunchine, Devyn, Kailen and Ella. She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Jones and her brother, Thomas Arata. She leaves behind her two “forever” friends, Betty Mori of Oakley, CA and Geri Dorsett of Petaluma, together with Trudy, they were known as the 3 musketeers. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life / memorial mass at St. Rose Church, 398 10th St., Santa Rosa on Saturday, March 11th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospice, 439 College Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95401, and Santa Rosa High School Foundation, PO Box 11006, Santa Rosa, CA 95406.
