Obituary of Jason Lae Khathiya
Jason Lae Khathiya was born September 16, 1972 in Xayaboury, Laos Province to Na Khathiya and Khan Ounetahma. In 1980, the Khathiya family migrated to the US by way of Thai refugee camp - finding their new home in Rockford, IL. Here, Jason was introduced to “DA BEARS!” and a die-hard fan was born. The Khathiya family moved closer to Santa Rosa, CA in 1986 to be close to family. Jason continued his education in Santa Rosa and received his diploma from Montgomery High School in 1990. Jason married Christine Dorr in 1997 and welcomed his first daughter, Serena, into the world, followed by his daughter Alahna in 1999. Later, Jason worked at Victor Treatment Center where he met a loving and caring woman, Trameka LaGail Abraham, who became his wife on September 10, 2010. Within a year, they both decided to devote their lives to Christ and were baptized together at Hessel Church in Sebastopol, CA on February 13, 2011. They had their first daughter together, Nasyah, in April 2012, and welcomed their second child, Khannai, in April 2014. During this time, Jason began his work of 6 years with Aurora Behavioral Health Hospital, as a Mental Health Worker and was later promoted to Activities Therapist. On Friday, June 12, 2020 Jason Lae Khathiya, loving husband and father of 4 beautiful girls, reunited with Jesus and his father, Na Khathiya, at the age of 47. Jason’s vibrance drew many people to him, and he truly knew how to seize each moment. Jason was the protector of the family and made his kids, nephews and nieces cry with his hairy bear hugs. He was the life of the party and his presence was known as soon as he stepped into a room. He had a way of creating special memories with each person, whether it be pranking someone, karaoke or dance battling, or during a family game night. He is survived by his wife, Trameka; daughters: Serena, Alahna, Nasyah and Khannai; granddaughter, L’ove; his mother, Khan; sisters: Lahn, Janet, and Wendy; brothers: Tan, John and Mone; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; and numerous friends who became family. He will be dearly missed. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Jason Khathiya, please visit Tribute Store
