Obituary of John Spencer Parmeter
John Spencer Parmeter (JP), age 39, passed away September 21, 2019. John was born on Labor Day September 1, 1980 in Santa Rosa, CA to Wayne W. Parmeter and Carrie L. Parmeter and grew up in the same home in Cazadero for all of his life.
John worked in logging like his father and grandfather, George E. Parmeter, then moved to Canyon Rock operating heavy equipment. He was also an accomplished tree climber like his father and his grandfather, Leon Gray. John and his younger brother, Brian ran around the Mountains of Cazadero along with their numerous cousins living the lives of true country boys. John and Brian were best friends and stuck by each other always. When in high school he brought home a friend, Chris Sloan, who he made part of his family and his parents consider a third son. John attended Cazadero Elementary School and graduated from El Molino like his father and mother. When his parents moved to Trinity County that became a second home to him. He often came to hunt and fish with his parents. The last family trip he took was with his wife and daughter to meet his parents at Medicine Lake where he spent the weekend fishing and kayaking with family. He was with his daughter when she caught her first fish. It was very special for them both and everyone present. John truly loved family.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Mayria Parmeter; daughter, Edith Parmeter age 6 and son, Taylor Parmeter age 18. He also leaves behind a stepdaughter Tamari Parmeter. His parents Wayne and Carrie Parmeter, Douglas City. Brother Brian Parmeter and sister in law Sarah Parmeter, Mountain View, Hawaii, his nieces Dallas and Faye Parmeter, His grandmothers, Lois Parmeter and Diane Gray, Cazadero. His uncles, Mark Gray and Brady Parmeter both of Cazadero. His great aunt Paula Gray, his adopted brother, Chris Sloan and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. JP is now with his grandfathers, Leon and George.
