I'm so sorry for your loss.
I met Marv while he was coaching High School Golf for Point Arena an I for Rincon Valley Christian School. At that time the coaches occasionally were able to play a few holes together during the match, while all the teams were on the course. Playing golf together you get to see the real person. I really enjoyed his company. He was a great guy. Looked forward to seeing him at each event.
I would want to have him in my foursome any day.

Mr Roupe was an incredible teacher. Anyone that could get me to listen to classical music, and enjoy it, has got to be an incredible individual. I still listen to it today. Thank you Mr Roupe.
My condolences to the family.
Marv Roupe was more than a teacher for me. He was a writer. He was a poet. He was a great teacher. He was a confidant. He helped make me feel comfortable in my own skin. He offered sage advice. He was cheerful. He was a good friend.
I am so appreciative of his heart and the time. We were so lucky Marv chose to be with us and spread his love of life!
Marv Roupe will be missed.
Thank you and Rest In Peace Mr. Roupe!
Wow... I'll always think of Marvin Roupe as Mr. Roupe. He was an amazing teacher and an inspiration to me. I remember how he was fond of telling everyone that they were his favorite student, but one at a time and using an example of them doing something smart or self-motivated. His gruff and no-nonsense attitude was perfectly held up in front of a kind and understanding truth that made him simultaneously intimidating if you didn't know him and amazing once you did. I remember when he assigned Catch-22 to the class and everyone else was having a tough time getting into it but I loved it, and when he switched the assignment a few days in to Grapes of Wrath, the fact that he let me keep on with Catch-22 instead made me feel like he and I were on the same page. Literally, I guess. His english classes were one of the high points of my time in high school, and seeing as how that's what I went on to study in college and now work on every day as a writer and editor... I can say he was one of the most important teachers I've ever had the honor of knowing. He will absolutely be missed, but his legacy is a part of everything I am and have done so he's not actually gone in my mind. Thank you, Mr. Roupe!
I was a student of Mr. Roupe at PAHS. He was such a quirky old guy. I still repeat some of his notorious quotes: "I wanna see daylight between you two" and "nerd alert" and "90 seconds, there and back".
I remember the boys in class would always ask Mr. Roupe about his time with the Air Force in an effort to procrastinate our quizzes. He fell for it most of the time too...
I really loved watching him and Margaret together. I'm sure she's thrilled to have him with her in heaven.
Cheers to the Roupes!!!
Rest in wonderful peace my brother Marv. I remember him first as my commander up at The point arena air Force station and then later as he taught at the high school my children. Always very even-keeled person. A special man who will be remembered by many. My condolences to the family who may not remember me but I remember you. we have the assurance that we'll see you again one day my dear brother Marv. As you changed your address to heaven. Blessings, Dave Kerby senior
