Obituary of Genevieve Veronica Aguilar

Genevieve Veronica Aguilar, Passed away peacefully in her home March 31st, 2016 she was 95 years old. Gen was born July 31st 1920 to Leonard and Elsie Allen in Ukiah Ca. Gen graduated from Riverside Indian School in 1936. She met Ralph at a dance held for Stewart Indian School and Riverside Indian School and were later married in May 1941.Ralph and Gen were married 73 years. Gen worked as a cook for Wright Elementary School for 25 years. Gen was the Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and Team Mom for the Little League Baseball. Gen enjoyed baking with her grand-kids, shopping, sewing, ceramics and other crafts. She also enjoyed gardening especially her roses, playing card games and watching Giants Baseball although we all secretly think she liked the Giants because their colors are orange, her favorite color. After Retirement Gen and Ralph traveled the world. Her favorite places included the Hawaiian Islands, Alaska, New Zealand and Australia and one of her favorite trips was with her mom Elsie when they traveled to Jerusalem. Gen was the light of our family and source of strength and humor. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Pike, and brother Leonard Allen. Her sons David and Donald Aguilar and granddaughter Autumn Holbrook. She is survived by her brother George Allen, daughter Linda Aguilar, sons, Ron (Zandra) and Dan Aguilar, her grandchildren Darla, Tracy, Greg, Rose, Dawn, Dan Dan, Darren (Kryse), great grandchildren Alyssa, Natasha (father Johnny Guiterrez), Ezra, Kalayaan, Kimeya, and Elsie, great-great grandchildren, Darren and Dwayne. Genevieve is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. On behalf of our family we would like to thank Tokasa Salawaqa for the loving, compassionate care she provided Ralph and Gen these past 4 years. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life service April 16th at 2:00 p.m. at Eggenn & Lance Mortuary, 1540 Mendocino Avenue Santa Rosa Ca. 95401. Reception to follow at Odd Fellows Hall at 545 Pacific Avenue Santa Rosa Ca. 95401.
