Obituary of Colleen Files
FILES, Colleen Eleanor (Cadona), our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home with family at her side, on February 9, 2018 at the age of 82. Born in Porterville, CA on July 3, 1935 to Louie Sante Cadona and Eileen Fern Wilson. Colleen lived much of her early life in the Fresno area before relocating to Sonoma County in 1980. She survived a serious illness in her childhood which resulted in multiple health issues that she endured from her mid 40’s on. Her faith, strong will and tenacious spirit defied the odds. She lived a much longer life than her doctors believed possible. We will remember her admirable resilience, adventurous spirit, fun-loving sense of humor, mischievous smile, her contagious laughter, striking blue eyes and uncanny poor navigation skills. She is greatly loved and surely will be missed.
She is survived by her six children: Linda Ice, Allen Ice, Daniel Douglas, Cynthia Fouts, Jacqueline Font and Sharon Files. She reveled in her role as “Grandma Colleen” to 13 grandchildren: Justin Lane, Joel Douglas, Erika Krushinsky, Masele Poueu, Ashley Young, Nicholas Ice, Anastacia Williams, Torecca Gebrezghi, Erik Poueu, Merrick Garman, Douglas Poueu, Alyson Ice, and Adamina Font; and 12 great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include: Judy Chamberlain, Norma Murphy, Dan Holterman, Frank Holterman, Richard Holterman, Linda Scov, Rolf Neuschaefer, Theresa Nambiar, Carlo Cadona and Kelley Anderson. Colleen joins her parents, her brother Jody Anderson, and her sister Kathleen “Kay” Cadona, in heaven.
Honoring Colleen’s wishes, in lieu of a funeral service, she has requested her ashes will be scattered in the San Francisco bay at a later date.
