Minnie M. Garvey

Minnie was born and raised on a farm in Balfour, ND. She graduated from Balfour High School in 1941. She married Charles A. Garvey, Jr. in 1945 and moved to Santa Rosa, CA in 1955. Minnie was a lifetime homemaker and volunteered at First Presbyterian Church and several elementary schools. She loved her time with family and friends at the Clear Lake Cottage. She was always a passionate fan of the SF Giants. Minnie loved her red Camaro! She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles: her sisters, Violet Ling and Evelyn Trowbridge; and her brothers, Edward, Vern, and Lyle Kohler. Minnie is survived by her son, Charles (Kathy) Garvey III from Wausau, WI; daughter, Susan Grave from Santa Rosa; her grandsons, Kyle (Emil) Simons of Santa Rosa and Joseph (Kaja) Garvey of Vashon, WA; her granddaughters, Abigail (Justin) Wilson of Arlington, VA and Anne (Jay) Garvey Shah of Madison, WI; and her seven great-grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews; and her four siblings, Richard (June) Kohler of Texas, Sharon (Jerry) Berndt of Texas, and Floyd Kohler and Joann Paulus, both of North Dakota. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. this Sunday, January 17th at First Presbyterian Church, 1550 Pacific Ave., in Santa Rosa. Donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or The Living Room.
