Marvin D. Roupe

Surrounded by his children, Lt. Col. Marvin D. Roupe, USAF (Ret.), 87 of Windsor, California, entered in to peaceful rest on Sunday January 27, 2019.  

Marvin was born January 4, 1932 in Alexander, Iowa to Arnold and Florence (Britton) Roupe.  He married Margaret Ann Hill in 1954, raised three children and loved his life. He served in the USAF for twenty years as a fighter pilot, officer and finally the commander of the 776 Radar Squadron at the Point Arena Air Force Station.  Upon his retirement from the USAF, he had a long and distinguished career as an educator at Point Arena High School. 

Marvin and Margaret retired to Windsor in 2003 where they enjoyed spending more time with their family and making new friends in their neighborhood. 

Marvin is survived by his children Pam Rubel (Roger) of Rohnert Park, California, Mark Roupe of Slavutich, Ukraine and Devon Roupe of Windsor, California. Marvin treasured his loving grandchildren, Joanna Fu (Danny), Cody Rubel, Matthew Rubel, Stephan Roupe, Florence Roupe, and his great grandchildren Kayleigh and Maxwell Fu.  Marvin is also survived by his brother David Roupe (Marilyn), sister Dorothy Harlan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret and his brother Roland.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2 at Franchetti’s in Santa Rosa.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Soaring Spirits International, www.soaringspirits.org
