Ronald Eugene Hodges, 83, passed away peacefully on July 29 in Santa Rosa, California, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 4, 1943, in El Paso, Texas, Ron later made California his home, where he built a life with his beloved wife, Sharon. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and enjoyed a distinguished career as a Landscape Architect spanning more than 50 years.

Ron embraced life with enthusiasm and a spirit of adventure. An avid cyclist, he enjoyed road riding and racing, and his passion for speed extended to collecting and racing sports cars, often saying he simply liked to “go fast.” He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found great joy in landscape design and gardening, nurturing a lifelong affection for all things that grow from the earth. Above all, Ron was a loving husband, father, and family man whose kindness touched everyone who knew him. He was known for his sense of humor, and thoughtful nature. A lifelong reader, he often enjoyed quiet moments of reflection and contemplation, bringing wisdom and warmth to those around him.

Ron is survived by his wife, Sharon Hodges, and his son, Elliott Hodges. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
