Patricia Mary Vance

April 6, 1951 – March 31, 2025

Patricia Vance, longtime resident of Santa Rosa, passed away on March 31, 2025, after a courageous battle with ALS. She was 73.

Patricia, known as “Patsy”, was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada on April 6, 1951 to Arthur and Lucille Comeau. The Comeau family moved to San Diego in 1964. In 1973, Patsy moved to Sonoma County, where she resided until her death.

In her twenties and thirties, Patsy completed her college and graduate school studies at Sonoma State and Golden Gate University School of Law. She found her calling in real estate sales and worked as a highly regarded realtor until ALS forced her retirement in 2023.

Throughout her adult life, Patsy was a prolific knitter, a great cook, and an avid reader of fiction. She was also a devoted fan of the New York Times crossword puzzle and a host of productions of PBS, NPR, and British television.

As a devoted lover of all kinds of animals, she was never without either cats or dogs.

Patsy is survived by her loving partner of 40 years, Peter Goldbeck; her adored labradoodle, Bodie; her brother, Richard Comeau (Rosalia); her niece, Ashley; her nephew, Jorge; her caregiver, Rebecca; and by extended family and friends far too numerous to mention here.

Donations in Patsy’s memory are kindly requested to be made to the ALS Network; KQED; or, to a favorite animal welfare organization.
