Patricia Freeman
September 28, 1931 – August 20, 2024
Patricia Freeman passed away at home at the age of 92 on Tuesday August 20th 2024. She is survived by her husband Wendell, brother Gary Groneweg, son Jeffry Young, daughter Jennifer Mosso (Rick) and stepchildren Kirk (Elisabeth), Shirley, Scott (Charis) and Brett Freeman.
Patt was born in Kansas City Missouri and always considered herself to be a “midwestern girl”. After a career of teaching Kindergarten for 27 years in San Rafael she and Wendell retired to the Oakmont Community in Santa Rosa. She was devoted to her many dear friends from teaching and traveling as well as in Oakmont. Patricia had a curiosity about folks and loved to visit with everybody.
Patricia had loved singing in the choir at the Presbyterian Church and reading to the children there at the Bethlehem Preschool. Other volunteering included working at the Assistance League Thrift Shop and Kaiser Hospital.
Patt was a lifelong learner. She traveled the world, danced with a group in Oakmont, attended the Symphony and belonged to the local chapter of the Retired Teachers Association. Some of her other passions included playing the piano, shopping at Ross and QVC, interior decorating, cruising, her roses, dancing with Wendell and playing King’s Corners card game. She also loved her several dogs over the years but was best known for her Teddy Bear collection.
