Michael Turnick
April 18, 1947 – July 30, 2026
Santa Rosa
Michael Turnick, a loving and jovial father, grand
father, and great-grandfather, departed this life on July
30, 2026, at the age of 79.
Proudly born and raised in Santa Rosa, Michael moved
to Washington State after serving in Vietnam as a mem
ber of the U.S. Army. Michael spent most of his adult life
in Washington, where his children still reside. For many
decades, Michael tirelessly served communities across the
country as a truck driver, sometimes spending weeks at a
time on the road. After his retirement, he returned to
Santa Rosa, to be surrounded by his siblings, cousins,
and extended family.
Michael, known as Mickey or Mike to those close to
him, was a natural storyteller with an endless supply of
jokes at the ready. If you were lucky enough to be his
loved one, then you were likely greeted with a giant bear
hug each time you saw him.
He is survived by his children, Jonathan (Kristin) Tur
nick and Nicole (Sean) Bolan; his grandchildren,
Jonathan (Viviane) Turnick, Taylor (Daniel) Self, Jacque
line (Isaac) Carmichael, and Oscar Bolan; along with four
great-grandchildren, two siblings, and many nieces,
nephews, cousins, in-laws, and other extended family. He
was preceded in death by his father, Michael (Mary) Tur
nick and mother, Alice (Merle) Houx.
A memorial will be held on August 22, 2026, at 12:00
noon at Eggen & Lance, 1540 Mendocino Avenue, Santa
Rosa.
Though his final journey has come to an end, his mem
ory will ride with us always, in every shared laugh and
every reminder that life is better when filled with kind
ness and a good joke
