On the evening of Monday, February 16th 2026, at the age of 73, Katherine “Kathy” Perdue passed away in her Rohnert Park family home. She began her journey as the youngest child of Imogene and Donald Kmieciak, sister to Barbara. Born in Huntington Park, Ca on Tuesday, June 17 1952, as Katherine Ann Kmieciak, she lived her life surrounded by family. While attending Hawthorne High she met her one true love, Dave Evan Perdue. Following her x-ray technician training at UCLA in 1973 she married the love of her life. Together they brought their first child into the world, Chester Scott, in 1975.
The small family of 3 lived in Chicago briefly but ultimately came back to grow roots in Northern California, where Kathy and Dave purchased their forever home in 1981. The 80s were a busy decade for the Perdue’s as they started their own business, Rancho Arroyo Racket Club and welcomed their second child, Sada Katherine, both in the same year of 1985. While growing their community and family, they welcomed their last child Emma Jean in 1987.
In 1990 her husband Dave passed away from cancer. With help from her mother and father, Sister Barbara and her husband Max and mother in law Eileen, Kathy navigated the life of a single parent.
Headstrong and a cancer survivor, She was a voracious reader and never watched a musical she didn’t love. Kathy was an accomplished tennis player, loved vacationing at Meeks Bay in Lake Tahoe and being around water. Kathy spread her love for all things Disney to her children, with frequent trips to the parks and multiple viewing of the movies. She also loved the Christmas season and was known to make mountains of beautifully wrapped gifts for her children every year.
Kathy was a die hard fan of both the San Francisco Giants and 49ers throughout the years and continued to watch every tennis match she could. Her true calling in life was being a grandmother. Kathy was blessed with 13 grandkids: Spencer, Samuel, Brittian, Preston, Alexis, Parker, Porter, Colton, Knight, Gunnar, Mads, Presley and Caine and 3 great grandchildren Camden, Brynleigh and Samuel Jr.. She loved spending as much time surrounded by her grandkids as possible.
