Joni Leigh Brown

Joni Leigh Brown was born at Santa Rosa memorial hospital on March 15, 1986.

Joni resided in Sonoma County the majority of her life. She was very active in the community and where she lived.

She had a heart as big as the moon, if she saw a person in need she tried to fill it She delivered water to Cal Fire to fight the 2017 and 2019 fires , as well as organizing clothes and food drop offs to the shelters and those in need.

Joni helped save and feed and water the animals that were trapped at Safari West.

She was tough, stubborn, strong, independent, loyal and fierce.

Joni was a great sister, mother, auntie. She had a strong passion for her dogs and bumble bees. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to California Pit bull Rescue (Link Below)

Joni passed away on June 8, 2026, she had just turned 40 in March.

Joni is survived by her Father Harry Brown, his wife Nancy, her mother Joye Brown, and her sisters, Julie Gilpatrick, Lillian Brown, and Aubrey Scovel, and her two brothers Dustin Marshall and Tyler (Castel) Krist. She has two children, her daughter Hayleigh Marie Moynihan, and her son Aidan Dale Lloyd Higginbottom, as well as her long time partner Dan Cresta.

Joni has numerous, nieces and nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins and one grandmother Karin McGregor.

Words cannot express the sadness we will have to live with the rest of our lives.
