JAIMEN TROY FOSTER

Jaimen Troy Foster, born June 24, 1962 in Arcata, CA passed away on Oct 21, 2022 in Santa Rosa.

Born and raised in Humboldt County, Jaimen, known as ‘Jaime’ in his early years, was reared by a lifelong timber worker and an elementary school teacher. He treasured the outdoors, athletics, and had a passion for learning. In Arcata, Jaime’s youth was spent riding and racing motorcycles, digging for clams, harvesting abalone, cutting timber, hunting, and fishing.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business from Humboldt State University, Jaime moved to Santa Rosa and began his career in Mortgage Lending working for IMCO, North American Mortgage, and Chase. He was a well respected originator, manager, and coworker.

Jaimen met his wife Jennifer working at IMCO, proposed in the building’s lobby, married at Church of the Incarnation in 1990, and raised three red-headed sons. His family meant the world to him.

Jaimen was an amazing athlete, excelling in all sports: baseball, football, basketball, and track. Basketball was his greatest passion. He was Point Guard for Arcata High School, earned All-County, played at College of the Redwoods and Humboldt State. His post-collegiate career included 25+ years in Sonoma County Leagues, Santa Rosa Airport Club 5am squad, countless 6’ and Under tournaments plus repeat medalist at Sonoma County Senior Games. Jaimen was active in his community, volunteering at church and school events. He loved coaching basketball for all 3 sons’ teams in YMCA, CYO, Santa Rosa Middle School and Santa Rosa High School.

His passion for the outdoors included hiking, backpacking, fishing, skiing, motorcycle riding and mountain biking. Many wonderful memories spent at the Pacific Ocean for abalone diving, spear fishing, backpacking in the Trinity Alps, and summers at Lake Almanor.

Weekends were often spent at the family ranch in Humboldt County working the land, harvesting timber, clearing roads, and caring for the mountainous land he loved. Jaimen enjoyed travel, with trips to Spain, Portugal, Italy, New Zealand, Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska.

Jaimen will be remembered for his athletic prowess, determination, and willingness to help others. His friends and neighbors only had to mention the need for a tree trimming and he’d be there with climbing gear and chain saws. His enthusiasm for sport, outdoor adventure, and family was unmatched. Jaimen worked steadfastly, whether at the office or on personal projects, to leave things better than he found them.

Jaimen is survived by his wife Jennifer, his sons Michael, Cameron, and Evan, his mother Marilynn Cooper Foster, brother Lonnie Foster (Carrie), sister Shawna Thorson (Greg), many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his father Darol Lee Foster.

Jaimen passed following a lengthy battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s. He left this world too soon and will be missed by all who knew him. Services to be held Fri Dec 2nd at Church of the Incarnation in Santa Rosa. A Celebration of Life will be held June 24th 2023 in Humboldt County.
