JACK CHESTER

March 9, 1943 – October 18, 2022

Jack E. Chester, beloved father of Lorraine and Amanda Chester, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022. Jack graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Veterinary medicine in 1967. He went on to join the US Army from 1968 through 1970 where he was one of eight candidates in the military selected to work with cutting edge laser technology. After his honorable discharge as a Captain in the Army, Jack went into Veterinary practice with a focus on large animal medicine. He was so dedicated to his work, he often worked late nights, weekends and holidays in addition to his regular business hours, whenever animals were in need. Besides always being there to save the lives of his furry patients, Jack spent other free time volunteering with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue on their Dive Team, saving lives of humans.

Jack’s gentle sweet disposition, optimism, spirited sense of humor, strong work ethic and undying love of chocolate and coffee will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

I met Jack in 1981 when i bought my home on Appian way Jack lived on the same road. He was always busy tending to animals on his property. He was a friendly, kind man

Jack and I went to Santa Ynez high school together. We were both in FFA and served as officers and on judging team. We lost contact with each other until I moved to Forestville, Ca. in 1982. I needed a vet for my daughters’ sheep. Jack was a terrific person and a very good Veterinary. He came to my agriculture class and spoke to them on occasion. I will miss my friend.

Is there any way you can remove people from that service?
