BRIAN JOHN LEACH

November 15, 1959 – August 09, 2024

Brian John Leach was a loyal, hard-working, and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He died peacefully at home with his family at his side on August 9, 2024, having bravely battled brain cancer for 16 months.

Brian was born in San Francisco on November 15, 1959. Raised in Petaluma by his parents Sandy and Bob, he learned the value of family, community, and hard work. Brian worked within the community, marketing and supporting local businesses, and directing televised regional and local sporting events. He worked incredibly hard, not announcing his retirement until two weeks before his death.

He was most proud of the life he built with his wife of 34 years, Audrey, and their sons, Alex and Chris. An avid outdoorsman, Brian loved fishing, backpacking, and going on walks with his dog Remy, which often led to lengthy conversations with neighbors and friends, both new and old. A good listener, people enjoyed visiting with him. Brian was an avid fan of baseball and live music, and he never missed the opportunity to go to a Giants game or a concert with family and friends. A quiet and serious guy at home, Brian often surprised people with his wit and humor. It is Brian’s big, big heart that will most be missed.

Brian’s memory will endure through his wife, Audrey, and his sons Alex and Chris; his leaves behind his mother and father, Sandy and Bob Findlay; his sisters and brother, Dawn Carlsen (Michael), Sherry Hall, Wayne Leach (Ronnie), Robin Findlay, and Jill Dunaway (Dan); Brian also loved and enjoyed his many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held on August 27 at 10:30 AM at St Rose Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. Reception to follow in the Dennis O’Sullivan Hall adjacent to the church.
