Arlene Dale Greenamyre
“I’ve Had a GREAT Life!”
Anyone who spoke to Arlene over the past few years would hear her repeatedly she had a great life! Arlene was born on May 24,1935 to Dorthy and Les Bowman, who were loving Christian parents. She passed peacefully into eternal life on March 11, 2026. Hers is a love story. She married her high school sweetheart, James Lyle Greenamyre at the age of 21. Together, they had two children. Lynne Joy and Kurt Lyle. The focus of Arlenes’ life was loving and serving her Jim and her family. Arlene was an amazing cook and she never made the same meal twice! Dining at Arlene and Jims was always special. Once Lynne and Kurt were in school, Arlene went to work at Santa Rosa Junior College as an Executive Assistant to the Athletic Director. Soon, Arlene supported all the coaches and athletic programs at SRJC, a job she loved! Later in life, Arlene and Jim traveled a lot, visiting Lynne and Kurt’s families, going on family vacations to Lake Tahoe and international travel. In his late 70’s, Jim developed dementia and Arlene was his loving care giver for many years. In 2017, Arlene lost her son Kurt, her husband Jim, and she lived through the Tubbs fires. Gratefully her life and her house were spared, though damaged during the fire. After completing all the repairs, Arlene moved to Portland Oregon in 2018 to be closer to Lynne and her family. She lived at Touchmark where she had wonderful views of the vineyards and trees and she made many friends on “Fifth Avenue”. She also was able to spend more time with Lynne, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, including holiday/birthday celebrations, and trips to Sun River and Depoe Bay. In the last week before she passed, Arlene was very focused on her Jim. She missed him terribly and wanted to be with him again. Arlene went to heaven peacefully and quickly, which her family is grateful for. “She had a GREAT life” …and now she is finally with her Jim, once again.
Arlene is survived by her daughter (Lynne Joy Camp), five Grandchildren (Elyse Lyne, Bria Nicole and Troy Lyle Greenamyre; Jacqueline Joy Nordby and Jeffery James Camp) and five Great grandchildren (Zayden Camp, Declan, Christian, Stella and Oliver Nordby). She is also survived by her sister Carol Lynne Underhill, three nieces (Cheryl, Melinda, Lisa) and one nephew (Steven).
