Alfonso Mexicano Gaitan

Alfonso Mexicano Gaitan also known to many as “Poncho” age 77 of Windsor, California passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026.

Alfonso was born on October 30, 1948 in San Luis Potosí, Mexico to parents Lionor and Guadalupe Gaitan. At the age of 3 he moved to California with his parents and siblings picking crops along the way.

They eventually settled in Windsor California where he grew up and attended local schools.

His love for cars started at a young age and continued throughout his lifetime. A legacy he passed onto future generations. In his mid twenties Auto Body work became his passion and he started his own business.

He is survived by his former wife Rosalinda children Alfonso Jr, Reyes and Sarah grandchildren Jeanette, Reyes Jr, Mindy, Jaylyn and Aj Great-grandchildren Baylee, Jameson,Mikayla, Reyes III, Amaya, Caiya and Emi; sisters Hermina, Veronica, Mary, Janie and Lourdes numerous nieces, nephews and longtime partner Morena.

He is preceded in death by parents Leonor and Guadalupe, daughter Mindy, brothers Marcel, Victor and Guadalupe (Lupe) and sister Lola.

Alfonso loved to BBQ, listening to music and make everyone around him laugh. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
