Alberta Lee Wilson
October 22, 1940 – February 3, 2026

Alberta Lee Wilson passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving children, who showered her with affection in her final hours. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved husband of 60 years, Charles “Chuck” Wilson, and their cherished dog, Wendy.
Born on October 22, 1940 in Tulare, CA, Alberta lived a life beautifully devoted to God, family, and country. She graduated from the University of the Pacific and began her career as an elementary school teacher. Her love of learning and teaching extended far beyond the classroom. As a young woman, she served with Chuck in the Peace Corps in Brazil — an early expression of her lifelong calling to serve others.
She married the love of her life, Chuck, and together they answered a call to ministry through Partners International. Their partnership was one of shared faith, shared purpose, and deep devotion — a true testament to what Alberta often said: “When you work together, it’s fun.”
Alberta poured her heart into her home, raising her children, Matthew and Mary Beth, with intentional love and steady guidance. She taught them that manners were not about being elite, but about being comfortable in any situation. She modeled quiet strength, a sweet spirit, and unwavering faith. A true Christ follower and devoted prayer warrior, Alberta’s life reflected her motto: “God, Family, Country.”
Her gift of hospitality was legendary. Whether hosting backyard Bible school, neighborhood teas, lively game nights, or teaching friends and family the finer points of canasta (including her cousin, Stan Loar), Alberta created community wherever she was. There was always hot water in your cup to warm it, hot food served on a hot plate, and handwritten cards sent with thoughtfulness and care.
Music filled her home and her heart. She played the piano, often composing her own songs, and loved to worship — “How Great Thou Art” holding a special place in her heart. She enjoyed a good game of tennis, walks, a “sweet spirit”, and making treasured family recipes with her children and grandchildren.
After her children were grown, Alberta worked at Macy’s and later taught ESL with the Metropolitan Adult Education Program and was named Teacher of Year 2002. Her passion for education extended overseas when she taught English to Chinese teachers in China. She remained a lifelong learner and teacher, and always her family’s “Number One Fan.” She was also lovingly known as a “political correspondent” to her children, sharing her love for the United States and thoughtful perspectives with conviction and humor.
In Chuck’s final years, Alberta cared for him with tender devotion, reflecting the depth of their love and commitment. After Chuck’s passing, she lived in Las Vegas near Mary Beth and family. She treasured trips, family meals, and cheering Layla on at her tennis matches. Neighbor friends like Robin were treated to tea, game nights, and holiday gatherings.
She is survived by her children, Matthew and Mary Beth; and her beloved grandchildren, David, Hannah, Layla, Makenna, and Reagan. Her legacy of faith, hospitality, joy, and steadfast love lives on in each of them.
Alberta will be remembered for her laughter — even in difficult moments. Her gentle strength, her watchful finger of loving correction, and her unwavering devotion to serving God and others.
Her life was a beautiful representation of faith in action — a woman who loved deeply, served faithfully, and left the world warmer than she found it.
The family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support shown during this time.
