Gloria Phelps

April 24, 1932 – October 10, 2022

Gloria M. Phelps entered eternal rest at her home in Santa Rosa, California on Monday, October 10, 2022. She was a long-time resident of Santa Rosa. Last April, she celebrated her 90th birthday, hosted by her friends and neighbors of Rancho San Miguel.

Gloria was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1932, the daughter of Millio and Nellie (Riggio) Vani. She worked for several years as a real estate agent before working in retail sales at the Coddingtown Mall. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting. Gloria was a health enthusiast and she practiced what she preached, with daily walks and eating healthy foods. Gloria was a kind soul, and she was loved by many.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Phelps. She is survived by her two sons, Dean (Nancy) Brewer and Douglas Phelps. She was the proud grandmother of five grandsons: Dean Jr. (Rachel) Brewer, David (Melissa) Brewer, Daniel (Karen) Brewer, Christopher Phelps, and Preston Graff; and her only granddaughter, Danielle Phelps. Gloria was also the great-grandmother of seven children: Anthony, Emilia, Clara, Alexandra, Caroline, Elise, and Wyatt. Gloria is also survived by her brother, Terry (Sylvia) Vani; her niece, Nicole Vani; and her nephew, Aarow (Lori) Vani and several cousins.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Linda Holst and Nadine Heyl for their devoted and loving care.

Funeral arrangements are through Eggen and Lance Chapel. Burial will be on Tuesday, October 18th at 1:00 p.m. in Santa Rosa Memorial Park, Shiloh District Cemetery, 7130 Windsor Road, Windsor, CA. A reception will immediately follow at the Rancho San Miguel Clubhouse, 2665 Hardies Lane, Santa Rosa. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.

    I’m going to miss this lady so much! I always loved running into to her on the party’s and outside the park when she would walk to the store. She always had the best stories and the best gossip. I loved our friendship ❤️
