Obituary of Melindia Cadd

Passed peacefully in Sonoma on January 10th, 2018. Born December 24th, 1931 in Chambersville, Arkansas, to Alice Melinda Fenison and Jesse Lee House who preceded her in death. Her family spent several years on the Monterey Coast before relocating to Healdsburg. Upon graduation from Healdsburg High School she began working for the Healdsburg Union School District, meeting the love of her life, John "Jack" Cadd. They were married in August of 1953. After 31 years with the school district, Lin and Jack spent most of their retirement years in Santa Rosa. A doting grandmother, genealogy researcher and active in community affairs, she was always willing to stand up to protect the rights of others. She was a member of Healdsburg American Legion Auxiliary, California Retired Public Employees Association, GSMOL and Leisure Park Homeowners Association.

Lin was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jack Cadd, her siblings Lois Garrison, Mary Ruth Glenn, James House and Jesse Paul House. She is survived by her children John Cadd Jr. of Santa Rosa and Melanie O'Keefe of Sonoma, her grandchildren Victoria (Luis) Chavez of Rohnert Park, Jessica (Travis) Dobbins of Olathe, KS, Jacklyn (Dennis) Barajas and Buffi Cadd of Santa Rosa; her great-grandchildren Jack, Ellie and Morgan Dobbins of Olathe, KS, Evelyn and Damian Barajas of Santa Rosa and Antonio Cadd of Santa Rosa, her brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Carol House of Cloverdale, sister-in-law, Dolores House of Healdsburg, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived with love by Marc O'Keefe of Sonoma and Peggy Carroll and Susie of Sonoma. "I'll be looking at the moon, but I'll be seeing you..."

Services will be held on Friday, January 19th at 1:00 p.m. at Eggen & Lance Mortuary, 1540 Mendocino Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA. Viewing will be held between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. if desired. A private inurnment will be held at Oak Mound Cemetery, Healdsburg, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FISH (Friends in Sonoma Helping) www.friendsinsonomahelping.org
