Obituary of William LeBus
Passed away peacefully September 3, 2017 at Friends House skilled nursing facility at the age of 94. He was born in Oklahoma August 26, 1923 to Robert and Ethelyn and grew up in Los Angeles, CA. A WWII Veteran, he served in Hawaii on a mobile aircraft repair unit. He met his future wife, Fay, while stationed at Selfridge Field. They were married February 14, 1948 at Hope Lutheran Church in Hollywood, CA. He worked in Los Angeles at Marquart Corp. on Apollo mission rockets until 1969 then, because he did not want to work on projects supporting the Viet Nam war, he switched jobs to a Medical Supply Company. He retired in 1987 and moved to Rohnert Park, enjoyed wood working and photography, and was an active member of Cross and Crown Lutheran Church.
He raised three children and is survived by son, Richard; daughter, Gayle Perrine; son in law, Robert Speckels; grandson, Airn LeBus; granddaughters, Jocelyn Pena and Emily Kinsella; great grandchildren, Kevin William Kinsella and Anna Bear Souza; nephews, Tom and William R. LeBus; niece, Roberta Forbes; and grandniece, Erica Lane. Predeceased in death by son, Paul, and beloved wife of 63 years, Fay. William was well loved and respected by his friends and family. His ever present sense of humor will be dearly missed by all. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Redwood Empire Food Bank.
