Our beloved mother and grandmother, Simona U. Posadas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 5, 2018. She spent her last day spending time with her cherished son and caretakers before taking her last breath shortly before 10 p.m. Simona was born in Mexico in 1920 and arrived in the United States in 1921. She spent most of her life in San Francisco before relocating to Rohnert Park where she resided the past 11 years. Simona was a dedicated, hardworking, and devoted mother. Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with them. She thought her greatest legacy was her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing, spending summers camping in Lake Tahoe, and reading. She would always spend hours cooking and preparing for her company to make sure everyone had a full belly. Simona left this world unafraid with nothing left unfinished. She leaves behind pictures and memories that will last a lifetime. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She married the love of her life, John, in 1942 before he enlisted in the army that same year. They met in a dance hall located in San Francisco and were married for 75 years.
Simona leaves behind 3 sons; John Jr., Michael, and Gregory; and her 8 grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, John and son, Mario.
Family and friends will gather at Eggen & Lance Chapel in Santa Rosa on Sunday, April 15 for a viewing from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. The mass will take place on Tuesday, April 17 at 10:30 a.m. located at St. Joseph's in Cotati followed by the burial service at 2 p.m. located at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.
