Robert B. Litzenberger Jr.

Rev. Robert B Litzenberger, Jr., of Windsor, CA., was born in Kingston, PA., on March 20, 1938 to Robert B. and Florence (Scott) Litzenberger, Sr. He died on August 18, 2017, at the age of 79.
Robert, younger brother Charles, and family lived in the coal mining town of Wilkes Barres, PA. He played football there and graduated from high school in 1955. At the age of 13, Robert received the Lord Jesus as his personal Savior and following high school began his preparation for Christian service at Philadelphia College of Bible. In 1960 after completing a year of training for youth ministry he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and married Marcia Gillett of Burr Oak, KS. While serving, he became an instructor in air craft and missile electronics at Chanute Air Force Base in IL. In 2000, after many years of pastoring, he retired and moved to Windsor. In 2010, Robert and Marcia celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marcia; children: Rita Hatfield (Mark) of Fountain Inn, SC.; Pastor Robert B. III (Beth) of Brady, NE.; George of Sacramento; Randy (Stephanie) of Clinton, SC.; Ron (Lianne) of Huntsville, AL.; and Russell of Windsor; fourteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family, a host of friends and a large Christian community.
Robert chose John 3:30 for his life's verse. "He must increase, but I must decrease." "Christ Liveth in Me" was his favorite hymm.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church; 2 Baltimore Avenue in Larkspur. Special guest pastor, Rev. John Herb from Hatfield, PA, will be officiating. Music will be provided by Nancy Herb, John's wife; Pastor Robert Litzenberger III; and Pat Kaiser. Several pastors will be participating. A coffee fellowship will be provided by the church after the service. Burial service was held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak, KS. The family suggests memorials go to the missions fund of Calvary Baptist Church in Larkspur.
