Born in Brooklyn, NY, the oldest child of Eastern European Jewish immigrants, Arnold and Lillie (Fischer) Gross. Married to Max Sucher in 1936. They raised their two daughters in Brooklyn and then Levittown, Long Island, NY. A graduate of Brooklyn College, she taught English, speech and drama at Syosset High School for over 20 years. Following the death of her husband in 1978, she moved to Santa Rosa and was an active and involved community member well into her late 90s. Survived by daughter Sahib-Amar Khalsa of Richmond, CA; sister Rosalie Gabel of Quincy, MA; granddaughters Sarah Carlson Brooke of Washington. DC, Jill Kline of Turlock, and Jennifer Leahy of Mountain View; grandson Ram Dass Khalsa of Richmond, CA; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
