Leonard Randolph Clayton, 84, sailed off to his final port on October 12, 2016 from Santa Rosa, CA and join his late wife, Jane who predeceased him in 1994. He was born in Ross, CA to Marshall and Clementina Clayton and grew up in Marin County graduating in 1950 from San Rafael High School. Leonard was a veteran of the United States Navy serving aboard the USS Manchester and enjoyed attending yearly reunions with his shipmates. He was an Environmental Engineer for 35 years with the Bay Area Air Quality District before retiring to care for his wife. Leonard enjoyed traveling and spent a month each year visiting Italy, Poland, Germany, Switzerland and surrounding countries. He is survived and sorely missed by his daughter, Kathleen Jarner; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kai) Fuller, Ryan (Brittany) McMillan, and Lorelei Jarner; and great-grandchildren: Jamison, Carter, Maliyah, Skyler and Scarlett. Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. at Eggen & Lance Chapel, 1540 Mendocino Avenue, 95401. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 2930 Bennett Valley Road, 95404 with graveside services immediately following the mass.
