Kathleen (Kathy) Alexander Lundy was born in Dallas, Texas on February 18, 1938 to Robert and Katherine Alexander. She was the last of their two children. Her brother, Bobby, was 7 years older (deceased at age 35 and never married). Kathy lived in Dallas until age 10 when her parents divorced and she went to live with her Dad’s sister, Elizabeth Willis, in Bethany, Oklahoma who was Librarian of Bethany Nazarene College (now Southern Nazarene University). It was in Bethany that she found Christ as her Savior, met her husband, Ron, and graduated from high school. She and Ron married May 23, 1959, and both graduated from Bethany Nazarene College in 1960. Kathy and Ron left Bethany and went to California seeking teaching jobs. They found jobs in Glendora, California. Kathy taught second grade and Ron sixth grade. After four years of teaching their son, Dave, was added to the family. They decided to move to Northern California. Ron found a teaching position with Santa Rosa City Schools and Kathy stayed home with Dave. Three years later their daughter, Joy, was added to the family. Kathy was involved in church activities such as children’s Wednesday night Bible Study, V.B.S. Director, assisting Ron in his teaching of an adult Sunday School class. Kathy started the church library at Santa Rosa Nazarene Church and was a substitute teacher for several years in Santa Rosa. Dave and Joy married and soon added grand children; Brent and Sarah born to Dave and wife, Karin, and Kailey and Kylin born to Joy Lundy Toro. Kathy continued to do church work, the last, helping Ron as Pastoral Care to Seniors at SRNC. Kathy died at Stanford Hospital on February 16, 2017.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 2 PM, Santa Rosa Nazarene Church, 1135 Farmers Lane in Santa Rosa.
