Gladys Cringle passed away peacefully in Rohnert Park on November 9, 2016, at the age of 94. Her family was at her side. Gladys was born and raised in Liverpool, England. She attended Skerry’s College in Liverpool in preparation of a career in the Civil Service. WW2 intervened and Gladys was drafted into the Woman’s Auxiliary Air Force (W.A.A.F.) in 1942 and stationed in Northern Wales. She left the WAAF with the rank of Senior Aircraftwoman and immigrated to northern California with her future husband, Donald Cringle, in 1948. They moved to Santa Rosa in 1986. Gladys was loved for her smile, compassion and caring of others. She was an avid bridge player, first class seamstress, voracious reader and devoted wife and mother. Gladys is survived by her daughter Debra Motta, son-in-law Robert Motta and daughter Barbara Cringle. There will be a private burial. Donations in memory of Gladys may be made to Sutter Hospice.
