Clarence H. Wikse passed away peacefully April 2rd at his home in Santa Rosa. He was 101 years old. Born in San Francisco to Jacob and Emma Wikse, loving husband and business partner of the late Bruna (Motroni) Wikse for 68 years, he is survived by his son John, John’s wife Diane and their daughter Hannah and many nieces and nephews. Clarence and Bruna created and shipped dried floral decorations from their ranch on the Graton road, where Clarence became known as “Weed Man Wikse.” A graduate of Cogswell Polytechnic College in San Francisco (’28), and a Past-Master of the Masonic Lodge, Clarence served as chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sonoma County Farm Bureau, was a member of the steering committee of the original Sonoma County General Plan, and was most proud of having entered the motion to initiate the building of Lake Sonoma. He loved singing early Irish-American songs through the last weeks of his life.
