Adrienne Mae Franklin passed away surrounded by her family and friends at her home in Santa Rosa, CA. In 1932, she was born to Sarah Antone and Walter Smith in Healdsburg, CA. She was a proud Kashia Pomo Indian and long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved gardening, knitting, sewing, camping, and making Pomo tacos for her family to enjoy. She loved her culture and it always made her happy to be with her brothers, sisters, and cousins having conversations in her Kashia language. Her heart was always on the Rez.
Adrienne is preceded in death by her loving husband, George Joseph Franklin of 53 years; her daughter, Deborah A. Franklin; son, George J. Franklin III; sister, Sylvia Smith; and brother, Clayton Smith. She is survived be her brother, Lorin Smith Sr.; sister, Zelda Smith; her sons: Dino Franklin Sr.; Derrick Franklin Sr.; Frederick Franklin; Michael Franklin; grandchildren: Dino Jr.; Reno; Jason; Alyssa; Derrick Jr.; Erika; Amanda; Robert; Christopher; 22 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grand children.
Services will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 12:30 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 1550 Northpoint Parkway in Santa Rosa.
