Welcome to the merry month of May. Here’s a list of things to do in Santa Rosa and beyond:
May 7 – Laguna de Santa Rosa – Join the fun of this annual trek to the Double-crested Cormorant nesting site on the banks of the Laguna. By May 7 we will likely see everything from courtship displays, nest building, egg-sitting, and maybe even peek-in on chicks while watching parents hustle to keep up with hungry mouths to feed. All the sights and sounds of the rookery are exciting! Santa Rosa. Details: http://bit.ly/2q7j01I.
May 12 – Tao of Music – Center for Spiritual Living – At this event, Bodhi Setchko will be performing a short sound healing with the flute and Tibetan Bowls and also reading excerpts from his new book, Tao of Music, including musings and personal stories. It’s about being in the flow – wu wei – of your own natural rhythms, whether in nature, an urban setting, hearing your own voice or just listening to the sounds of silence. Santa Rosa. May 26 – Masterpiece of Comic Timing – Sixth Street Playhouse – New York producer Jerry Cobb has invested all his money commissioning Nebraska Jones’ next play. In this “vintage” screwball comedy skewering an artistic life in the theatre, the line between comedy and drama comes under hilarious scrutiny and is found to be much narrower-and sillier-than you’d think.
