Our annual Tree of Remembrance and Candle Lighting service, designed for all faiths, will be held on Tuesday December 13 at 6PM at our Eggen & Lance Chapel on 1540 Mendocino Avenue in Santa Rosa.
During the holidays grieving and normal stresses of the time of year can become overwhelming. Grieving is both a physical and emotional process and it is a process that we all have or will have to face at some point in our lives. Grief is natural and painful, and can cause bodily discomforts as exhaustion, chills, lack of appetite, sleep disorders, and emotional ones as, anxiety, hostility, depression and feeling “crazy”
We often do not realize what is happening or how we should handle it. We need to take time out, time to grieve. This is when Holiday Memorial and Remembrance Services, can be so important. We recall special thoughts our loved one that can bring warmth and peace to our hearts. Spending time with others that are grieving not only helps us but it helps them. We receive support by sharing our difficult times by helping others share theirs’. Knowing you are not alone and are handling the loss – maybe even better than others in the same position – will give you peace, hope and understanding that you will experience joy in your life again. Attending meaningful memorial services will help us realize others are feeling overwhelmed this time of year.
Highlights include a selection of memorial hymns, readings from scripture, and meditations. Officiant is Reverend Peader Dalton and Lyric Tenor is Richard Riley
This evening is an idea opportunity for family and friends to create a new holiday tradition for those loved ones. Please stop in and hang an ornament on the tree and light a candle in memory of your loved one.
This is a free event and refreshments will be served. For details call Santa Rosa: 707-545-3747.
